Faribault Public Schools Launches an Enrollment and School Boundary Study
Join Us! Faribault Public Schools invites interested parents and community members to apply to become an Enrollment and Boundary Committee member. The goal of the Enrollment and Boundary committee will be to suggest new elementary school boundaries that bring balance to class sizes, program options and student populations for implementation in the 2016-2017 school year. This citizen’s committee will meet on Thursday evenings in November and early December of 2015.
Interested district parents and community members are welcomed to apply. Committee interest forms are available at the district office and at the district’s three elementary school buildings - Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt or online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LKRWSXV No special background needed, just a willingness to learn and share your knowledge as a parent or community member. Interest forms must be returned to the elementary school or district office or completed online by October 7, 2015.
The district will provide facilitation by Kristin Tollison, an expert in this process. She will facilitate committee discussion and provide technical and data support. The committee will provide a recommendation to the School Board in early 2016. Any changes approved by the school board could take effect as early as fall of 2016.
